A Waianae, Hawai‘i native, Kamalani Dung is one of the most dominant softball pitchers to emerge from the islands. She began her collegiate career at Fresno State, where she was 2016 Conference Pitcher of the Year, and set the Conference Single-Season Strikeout Record, while also helping capture a 2015 Conference Championship. She later transferred to the University of California, Berkeley, where she was named 2017 Newcomer of the Year and continued her success on the mound as top 5 in all major pitching categories in the PAC-12. and went on to expand her education at Harvard Business School.

Since 2017 she represented The Puerto Rico National Team on the international stage, winning Gold and Bronze medals. Competing as an Elite Olympic level athlete at international OLY events including Pan American Games, Central American Games , World Games, World Championships, and World Cups, leading the Puerto Rico national team in wins and strikeouts at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Qualifiers.

In 2020, Kamalani made history as the first woman from Hawai‘i to pitch and play professionally for Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL). Her professional career has since extended across the United States and internationally, where she has continued to compete at the highest levels.

Most recently, her accomplishments extend beyond the field. Kamalani is a multi faceted business owner, model/actress, and philanthropist. In 2024, she was honored with both the Hawai‘i Business Magazine Entrepreneur Award nomination and the TOYA National Award (Ten Outstanding Young Americans).

Community remains at the heart of her work. Through KAMA Training, she provides mentorship, training, and access for underserved youth, while also leading her nonprofit foundation. Since 2019, she serves as a national ambassador and spokesperson for a number of companies and continues to champion opportunity and visibility for the next generation of athletes.
